守株待兔 Waiting by the Stump

从前有一个种田的农夫。 Once there was a farmer who grew crops.

他每天都在田里种地。 He worked in the field every day.

有一天，一只兔子跑得很快。 One day, a rabbit ran very fast.

它撞在田边的树桩上。 It hit a stump by the field.

兔子死了，农夫捡了回家。 The rabbit died, and the farmer took it home.

那天晚上他吃了一顿好饭。 That night, he ate a good meal.

从那天起，他不种地了。 From that day on, he stopped farming.

他每天坐在树桩旁边等。 He sat by the stump and waited every day.

可是兔子再也没有来。 But the rabbit never came again.

田里长满了野草，没有收成。 The field filled with weeds, and there was no harvest.

只靠运气，等不到第二只兔子。 By luck alone, you will not get a second rabbit.
