Watch Out! · ¡Cuidado!

1

Watch Out!

¡Cuidado!

2

When you see danger, say it loud right away: "Watch out!" Don't worry about being too loud. Should we also say what the danger is? Yes: "Be careful, it's hot!" "Watch out, the floor is wet!"

3

Be careful, it's hot! Behind you! Thanks, Luis. In a kitchen, always say "Behind you."

¡Cuidado, está caliente! ¡Atrás de ti! Gracias, Luis.

4

Watch out, the floor is wet! Please walk this way. Good job. Always put out the sign when you mop.

¡Cuidado, el piso está mojado! Por aquí, por favor. Bien hecho.

5

Watch out above! Something's falling! Everyone wears a hard hat. Always!

¡Cuidado arriba! ¡Se está cayendo algo! ¡Todos con casco! ¡Siempre!

6

Heads up, the forklift is backing up! Put your phone away! Thank you, Ana. No phones while walking on the floor.

¡Ojo, el montacargas va en reversa! ¡Guarda el teléfono! Gracias, Ana.

7

Careful, it's sharp! Please stand back. Sorry! Come here, honey, sit with Grandma.

8

Slowly. Watch the step. Thank you. She fell right here last month.

Despacio. Cuidado con el escalón. Gracias. El mes pasado se cayó justo aquí.

9

Careful, it's heavy! Lift with your legs, not your back. That's right. If it's too heavy, lift it together.

10

Good to know: the most common warnings are "Watch out!" "Heads up!" "It's hot!" "The floor is wet!" "Behind you!" Say them loud so people can hear. You have the right to a safe workplace. If something is unsafe, tell your supervisor, or report it to Cal/OSHA. Your employer can't punish you for it.
