Happy birthday, Mrs. Chen! Don't cook today — we're ordering takeout. Then let's order from Golden Dragon. Their dumplings are the best.

¡Feliz cumpleaños, señora Chen! Hoy no cocine, vamos a pedir comida. Entonces pidamos del Golden Dragon. Sus dumplings son los mejores.

I want fried rice! I'd like pork dumplings and stir-fried greens. I'd like kung pao chicken… wait, that has peanuts!

¡Yo quiero arroz frito!

Golden Dragon, hello. Pickup or delivery? Pickup, please. I'd like one order of pork dumplings, one fried rice…

Golden Dragon, buenas tardes.

What… did… you…? Sorry, you're breaking up. I'll hang up and call you back.

¿Qué… me… dijo…? Perdón, se corta la llamada. Voy a colgar y le vuelvo a llamar.

The signal is bad in the hallway. Call by the window. Yes, it's much better here.

En el pasillo no hay buena señal. Llama junto a la ventana. Sí, aquí está mucho mejor.

I called a minute ago. One pork dumplings, one fried rice, and one stir-fried greens. Do any of these have peanuts? My son is allergic. None of those three. I'll tell the kitchen to use a clean wok.

That's thirty-two fifty. It'll be ready in twenty minutes. And your name? López. L-O-P-E-Z. See you in twenty minutes — thank you!

Son treinta y dos cincuenta. Estará listo en veinte minutos. ¿A nombre de quién? López. L-O-P-E-Z. Nos vemos en veinte minutos, ¡gracias!

Mrs. Chen, make a wish! My wish is that we neighbors celebrate birthdays together every year.

Good to know: when you order, first say "pickup" or "delivery," then order one dish at a time. At the end, repeat the order and ask the price and how long it will take. If anyone has a food allergy, always say so: "My son is allergic to peanuts." If the call breaks up, say "You're breaking up. I'll call you back," and move somewhere else.

Si alguien tiene alergia a un alimento, dígalo siempre: «My son is allergic to peanuts». Si se corta la llamada, diga «You're breaking up. I'll call you back» y muévase a otro lugar.
