Waiting by the Stump

Esperar junto al tocón

从前有一个种田的农夫。

Once there was a farmer who grew crops.

他每天都在田里种地。

He worked in the field every day.

Trabajaba en el campo todos los días.

有一天，一只兔子跑得很快。

One day, a rabbit ran very fast.

Un día, un conejo corrió muy rápido.

它撞在田边的树桩上。

It hit a stump by the field.

Chocó contra un tocón junto al campo.

兔子死了，农夫捡了回家。

The rabbit died, and the farmer took it home.

El conejo murió y el campesino se lo llevó a casa.

那天晚上他吃了一顿好饭。

That night, he ate a good meal.

Esa noche, comió una buena cena.

从那天起，他不种地了。

From that day on, he stopped farming.

他每天坐在树桩旁边等。

He sat by the stump and waited every day.

But the rabbit never came again.

The field filled with weeds, and there was no harvest.

只等好运，就是守株待兔。

Waiting only for good luck is waiting by the stump.
