Marking the Boat to Find the Sword

Marcar el bote para buscar la espada

从前有个人坐船过河。

Long ago, a man crossed a river by boat.

Hace mucho tiempo, un hombre cruzaba un río en bote.

他腰上挂着一把宝剑。

A precious sword hung from his waist.

Una espada preciosa colgaba de su cintura.

船到河中间，剑掉进了水里。

When the boat reached the middle of the river, the sword fell into the water.

Cuando el bote llegó al centro del río, la espada cayó al agua.

他在船边刻了一个记号。

He made a mark on the side of the boat.

Hizo una marca en el costado del bote.

他说：剑就是从这里掉的。

He said: The sword fell from here.

Dijo: La espada cayó desde aquí.

船靠岸后，他从记号跳下水。

After the boat reached shore, he jumped in from the mark.

Cuando el bote llegó a la orilla, saltó al agua desde la marca.

可是船已经走了很远。

But the boat had already gone far away.

Pero el bote ya había ido muy lejos.

剑还留在河的中间。

The sword was still in the middle of the river.

La espada todavía estaba en el centro del río.

情况变了，办法也要变。

When things change, the method must change too.

Cuando las cosas cambian, el método también debe cambiar.

别人换了新办法，你还用老的。

Others use a new method, but you still use the old one.

Los demás usan un método nuevo, pero tú todavía usas el antiguo.
