Mending the Pen After Losing Sheep

从前有个人，养了五只羊。

Long ago, a man kept five sheep.

Hace mucho tiempo, un hombre criaba cinco ovejas.

有天早上，羊圈破了一个洞。

One morning, there was a hole in the sheep pen.

Una mañana, había un agujero en el corral.

他一数，只剩四只。

When he counted, only four sheep were left.

Cuando las contó, solo quedaban cuatro ovejas.

邻居说：快把洞补上吧。

His neighbor said: Fix the hole quickly.

Su vecino dijo: Arregla el agujero pronto.

他说：丢都丢了，补也没用。

He said: The sheep are already gone, so fixing it is useless.

Él dijo: Las ovejas ya se fueron, así que arreglarlo no sirve.

第二天早上，又少了一只。

The next morning, one more sheep was gone.

A la mañana siguiente, faltaba otra oveja.

现在只剩三只了。

Now only three sheep were left.

Ahora solo quedaban tres ovejas.

这一次他赶快把洞补好了。

This time he quickly fixed the hole.

Esta vez arregló el agujero rápidamente.

从那以后，一只也没再丢。

After that, he did not lose another sheep.

Después de eso, no perdió ninguna oveja más.

出了问题马上补救，还来得及。

When there is a problem, fix it quickly; it is not too late.

Cuando hay un problema, arréglalo pronto; todavía no es tarde.

考坏了就马上复习，不算晚。

If you do badly on a test, start studying right away; it is not too late.

Si te va mal en un examen, empieza a estudiar enseguida; no es demasiado tarde.
