星期天，包饺子

星期天，我们自己包饺子。

On Sunday we make dumplings ourselves.

一步一步来，急不得。

One step at a time — it cannot be hurried.

先是一团面，白白的，软软的。

First there is a lump of dough, white and soft.

Primero hay una bola de masa, blanca y blanda.

按下去，它会慢慢弹回来。

Press it and it slowly springs back.

Si la aprietas, vuelve despacio a su lugar.

擀面杖来回推，面团就变薄了。

The rolling pin goes back and forth and the dough flattens.

El rodillo va y viene y la masa se aplana.

推成一张圆圆的皮。

It becomes a round wrapper.

Se convierte en una lámina redonda.

馅是白菜和肉拌的。

The filling is cabbage and pork, mixed.

El relleno es de repollo y carne, mezclados.

挖一勺，放在皮中间。

Scoop one spoonful into the middle of the wrapper.

Pon una cucharada en el centro de la lámina.

把皮对折，从一边捏到另一边。

Fold the wrapper and pinch from one side to the other.

Dobla la lámina y pellizca de un lado al otro.

捏出一道弯弯的边。

A curved, pleated edge appears.

Aparece un borde curvo y plisado.

包好的饺子排成一排。

The finished dumplings stand in a row.

Los dumplings terminados se alinean.

一个挨着一个，站得好好的。

One beside another, all standing neatly.

Uno junto a otro, todos bien parados.

水开了，饺子一个一个下去。

The water boils and the dumplings go in one by one.

El agua hierve y los dumplings entran uno por uno.

它们沉到底，过一会儿又浮上来。

They sink, and after a while they float back up.

Se hunden y, al rato, vuelven a flotar.

浮上来的就是熟了。

The ones that float are done.

Los que flotan ya están listos.

捞出来，热气一下子冒出来。

Lift them out and the steam rushes up.

Al sacarlos, el vapor sube de golpe.

一盘饺子端上桌。

A plate of dumplings comes to the table.

In your family, who pleats them best?
