Before you do something, ask politely first: "Is it okay if I…?"

小知识：客气地问：“我……可以吗？”主管说“不行”的时候，就说“好的，没问题”，问问什么时候可以。

Good to know: ask politely: "Is it okay if I…?" If the answer is no, say "Okay, no problem," and ask when would be better.

Dato útil: pregunte con cortesía: «¿Está bien si…?». Si le dicen que no, diga «Está bien, no hay problema» y pregunte cuándo sería mejor.

有些事不用问也是你的权利：在加州，天气热的时候，可以喝水，可以到阴凉的地方休息；用洗手间也是你的权利。

Some things are your right, even without asking: in California, when it's hot, you can drink water and rest in the shade. Using the bathroom is your right, too.
