一道闪电，像一条弯弯的银线。

过了一会儿，才听见：

Only after a while do we hear it:

Solo un rato después se oye:

轰隆隆！

Boom, rumble, rumble!

¡Brum, brum, brum!

其实，闪电和雷是同时发生的。

In fact, lightning and thunder happen at the same moment.

En realidad, el relámpago y el trueno ocurren al mismo tiempo.

那为什么不是一起来的呢？

So why don't they arrive together?

因为光跑得特别特别快，

Because light travels incredibly fast,

一下子就到了我们的眼睛里。

it reaches our eyes in an instant.

声音跑得慢多了，

Sound travels much more slowly,

所以要过一会儿，我们才听见雷声。

so we hear the thunder a little later.

看见闪电以后，就数一、二、三……

After you see the lightning, count: one, two, three…

Cuando veas el relámpago, cuenta: uno, dos, tres…

数得越久，雷就离得越远。

The longer you count, the farther away the thunder is.

Cuanto más cuentes, más lejos está el trueno.

打雷的时候，要待在屋里，

When there is thunder, stay indoors,

Cuando truena, quédate en casa,

不要站在大树底下。

and never stand under a big tree.

y no te pongas debajo de un árbol grande.

雨过天晴，雷声越来越远了。

The rain passes, the sky clears, and the thunder fades away.

Pasa la lluvia, sale el sol y los truenos se alejan.
