我：大爷，您好！请问，地铁站怎么走？

Me: Excuse me, sir! How do I get to the subway station?

Yo: ¡Disculpe, señor! ¿Cómo llego a la estación de metro?

大爷：地铁站啊？不远。

Dàye: The subway? It's not far.

Dàye: ¿El metro? No está lejos.

大爷：你一直往东走，到第二个路口，往北拐。

Dàye: Go straight east, and at the second intersection turn north.

Dàye: Siga recto hacia el este y en el segundo cruce doble al norte.

我：东……哪边是东啊？

Me: East… which way is east?

Yo: Este… ¿y hacia dónde queda el este?

大爷：哈哈，就是往前走！到第二个路口，往左拐。

Dàye: Ha ha — just go straight ahead! At the second intersection, turn left.

Dàye: ¡Ja, ja! ¡Pues recto! En el segundo cruce, a la izquierda.

我：明白了。走路要多久？

Me: Got it. How long is the walk?

Yo: Entendido. ¿Cuánto se tarda caminando?

大爷：十分钟吧。

Dàye: About ten minutes.

Dàye: Unos diez minutos.

大爷：看见那个红绿灯了吗？过了红绿灯，再走一会儿就到了。

Dàye: See that traffic light? Go past it, walk a little more, and you're there.

Dàye: ¿Ve ese semáforo? Pase el semáforo, camine un poco más y ya llega.

我：谢谢大爷！

Me: Thank you, sir!

Yo: ¡Gracias, señor!

大爷：不客气！

Dàye: You're welcome!

Dàye: ¡De nada!

我：一直往前走……第一个路口……第二个路口，往左拐。

Me: Straight ahead… first intersection… second intersection, turn left.

Yo: Recto… primer cruce… segundo cruce, a la izquierda.

我：你好，请问地铁站在哪儿？

Me: Hi, excuse me — where is the subway station?

Yo: Hola, disculpe, ¿dónde está la estación de metro?

路人：就在前面，银行旁边。

Passer-by: Just up ahead, next to the bank.

Transeúnte: Justo ahí adelante, al lado del banco.

我：看到了！谢谢你！

Me: I see it! Thank you!

Yo: ¡Ya lo veo! ¡Gracias!

路人：不客气！

Passer-by: No problem!

Transeúnte: ¡De nada!

我：原来地铁站真的不远，十分钟就到了。

Me: The subway station really wasn't far — just ten minutes.

Yo: De verdad la estación de metro no estaba lejos: en diez minutos llegué.

小知识：北京人指路，常常说「往东走」「往北拐」，不太说左右。

Good to know: when people in Beijing give directions, they often say "go east" or "turn north" rather than left and right.

Dato útil: en Pekín, al indicar el camino, la gente suele decir «vaya al este» o «doble al norte», más que izquierda y derecha.

问路的时候，可以叫年纪大的男人「大爷」，叫年纪大的女人「阿姨」。

When asking the way, you can call an older man "dàye" and an older woman "āyí".

Al preguntar el camino, a un señor mayor se le puede llamar "dàye" y a una señora mayor, "āyí".
